I am sorry to hear of the passing of Allan. Allan and I met in 1998 when my partners and I were just starting our new firm as Registered Investment Advisors and Estate Planners in Helena, MT. Allan was near the age of my Mom who died only two years before we met. I was still deeply grieving the untimely death of my Mom, Luella, and Allan was a sympathetic ear. The next year, when I was in shock and in need, Allan picked up my four-year-old daughter and myself from the hospital after we were in a severe head-on auto accident with two bovine bulls outside of Boulder, MT. Since then... we always stayed in touch and kept up with how our kids were doing. Several years before Allan moved back to Banff/Calgary to be closer to his daughter, I took him on a night out at the Helena symphony. By then, conversations were getting more difficult due to his hearing, so it was nice to share time in a way we both enjoyed.
It is disheartening not to see an actual obituary here to honor Allan's life. No matter if one or none see it --- he lived... he did some good things while here and he adored and was so proud of his daughter and her son.... "to the moon and back".
Rest in peace, Allan.
